Getting started
First of all, welcome to 3rdRisk! This is the getting started tutorial to get you up and running as fast as possible.
Configuration wizard
We never liked the lengthy and costly implementation projects of typical GRC/risk platforms, so that is why 3rdRisk comes with a best-practice blueprint which you configure to your own needs.
Best practice blueprint
The configuration every customer starts with is based on best practices we previously implemented as former Deloitte consultants and is further fine-tuned by our customers using 3rdRisk in their daily operations.
This approach will save you tremendous money and get your team up and running as quickly as possible.
Start the configuration wizard
The wizard will automatically launch when you log in for the first time.
Click on [+ So, let's get started!] to start with step 1.
1. Create a new organisation profile
The first step in your new 3rdRisk account is to create an organisation profile. This profile provides an overview of your organisation and allows your third parties to search and connect with you.
This functionality will provide you with new types of network functionalities which will further mature and strengthen your third-party risk management capability:
- Easily add and maintain registered third-parties
- Initiate shared assessments (roadmap)
- Securely share risk and incident information (roadmap)
- Directly communicate with each other within the platform (roadmap)
Select [Submit] to save your organisation profile and go to the users (step 2).

2. Add the first users
Likely, you are not the only person managing your third-party risks. We encourage you to invite some more involved colleagues to your 3rdRisk environment.
Within the user section, you can easily invite new users. Simply click the [+ Invite] button:
Enter the full name, email address, job title and job description of your new user. Select the relevant role(s) from the list to assign the correct permissions.
Click [Invite] to send them an email with instructions on how to set up their account.

Advice is to start with a small number of users as you can easily add more colleagues at a later stage. Especially if you are also planning to start using SSO (OKTA/Azure AD), we strongly suggest limiting the number of local user accounts in this configuration phase.
3. Configure your initial organisation model
It is now time to create your organisation structure. This structure provides a visual representation and hierarchy of how your organisation is shaped and organised. Having your organisation model in place will allow you to assign different data elements like third parties, contracts, requirements, risks, incidents and users within the platform.

Advice is to start with a simple organisation model as you can easily add more depth and complexity at a later stage.
