How to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your assessment

Easily activate multifactor authentication on your assessment

Activate multi-factor authentication (MFA) for an additional security layer on your assessment.

Download an authenticator app

First, download a free authenticator app from your mobile app store if you have not installed one:

These apps are free, considered secure and offer similar functionalities, so use one of your preferences.

In this support article, we will use the Authy app, which is regarded as user-friendly and easy to use, but the process for the other apps is similar.

Activate MFA on your assessment

You can easily locate the MFA when you log into your assessment.

1. Login with your unique assessment URL (invitation e-mail) and received password (separate e-mail).

Please note that the colour scheme and logos differ per customer - in this article we use our own stylesheet.

2. Click on the dark blue "Activate Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for an additional security layer".

3. Open your authenticator app. In our case Authy.

4. Within the Authy app click on "Add account"

5. Click on "Scan QR Code"

6. Scan with your app the QR code from the assessment portal

7. Click on "Save".

Please note that the Enter Account Nickname is based on the assessment title - so it will differ on your mobile.

8. Complete the setup by taking the 6-figure number from your app. Please note that the number is only valid for 30 seconds.

9. And add this number to the assessment portal

10. If successful, the blue box is updated to green "Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) as additional security layer activated". You are done!

Please note that for security purposes, the platform will also send you an e-mail to inform you about the MFA activation.

11. When you are done or want to continue at a later stage, click on the log-out button in the top right corner.

Login with MFA on your assessment

If you have MFA activated, then the portal will always request you to fill in the MFA authentication code after you have provided your password.

This is the 6-digit code from your authentication app (step 8):

Deactivate MFA from your assessment

If you have MFA activated, and you want to remove MFA (e.g. in case you want to provide access to your colleague), you can follow the following process:

1. Log in to your assessment.

2. Click on the green banner banner "Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) as additional security layer activated."

3. Take the 6 digits from your authentication app

4. And enter it to the assessment portal

5. Click on "Deactivate additional security layer"

6. The green box will turn blue again. Thats it!

Please note that for security purposes, the platform will also send you an e-mail to inform you about the removal of MFA.
